A culinary event Tuesday on Hilton Head Island raised $8,900 for the Philippine Red Cross, according to organizers.

The "Chefs Relief Pop Up" at The Lodge Craft Beer & Burger Bar raised the money for Typhoon Haiyan recovery efforts.

Eight Lowcountry chefs served up a six-course meal at a cost of $65 per person with all of the proceeds going to the Philippine Red Cross, organizers said.

Anyone unable to attend the event who wants to donate money to the relief effort can make a cash donation at One Hot Mama's restaurant, 7B Greenwood Drive in Reilleys Plaza on Hilton Head, that will be incorporated into the evening's proceeds.
