A man armed with a revolver robbed a Beaufort beauty store Saturday, according to a news release from the Beaufort Police Department.

A man wearing a blue bandana armed with a revolver entered the Glamour Beauty Supply store on Robert Smalls Parkway demanding money Saturday night, the release said. Once store employees gave him money, he ran behind the store into the woods, the release said.

The employees called police just after 7 p.m., once the man left. K-9 units searched the woods and a perimeter was set up around the area, but the man was not found, the release said.

In addition to Beaufort police, officers from the Port Royal Police Department and deputies from the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office assisted in the search.

Witnesses to the robbery described the suspect as a black man in his 20s, about 6 feet tall and 180 pounds. The man was wearing a white shirt and gray pants along with the bandana, the release said.

Anyone with information about the robbery can call investigators at 843-322-7950 or the 24-hour dispatch office at 843-524-2777.
