The second of three community-arts meetings in South Carolina for Gullah artists and residents will be from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Penn Center on St. Helena Island.

The meetings are hosted by the S.C. Arts Commission and the Gullah Geechee Cultural Heritage Corridor Commission. The goal is to "build relationships with Gullah Geechee artists and those who advocate for the preservation of Gullah Geechee culture and traditions," a news release said.

The first meeting was Oct. 29 in Mount Pleasant, and the third will be Dec. 10 in Georgetown.
