The Rotary Club of Bluffton sponsors a program to recognize students who are exemplary in the following areas: service to school and/or community; academics; citizenship in school and out; and extracurricular activities in school and/or the community. Each month during the school year, a student is chosen to be the Rotary Club Student of the Month.The Student of the Month for September was fifth-grader Lily Vitiello. Lily was recognized at the Rotary Club of Bluffton breakfast. She was presented with a $50 award by Bluffton Rotary President Patrick Wright.   • The school will host a Christmas craft fair at from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Nov. 30 at Christ Lutheran Church, 829 William Hilton Parkway.

  • HILTON HEAD ISLAND HIGH SCHOOL

    ACHIEVEMENTS

  • Khalil Lewis will represent Hilton Head Island High School in the upcoming Touchstone Energy Bowl. Lewis is one of 88 top football players in the state chosen to play in the game. The game will be played at Doug Shaw Stadium in Myrtle Beach on Dec. 14.

  • EVENTS

  • The School Improvement Council meeting will be held at 6 p.m. on Nov. 21 in the media center.

  • MICHAEL C. RILEY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

    EVENTS

  • The school will have a Parent Teacher Organization meeting at 4:45 p.m. on Nov. 18.

  • The school will participate in a Chick-fil-A spirit night from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 20. Chick-fil-A donates a portion of the dinner profits to the school. The English for Speakers of Other Languages team will be working during the evening at Chick-fil-A.

  • In celebration of American Education Week, the school and Early Childhood Center invite parents to visit the school and their child's classroom from 9 a.m. to noon Nov. 21.

  • Students and teachers will have two competitive kickball games on Nov. 22. The 10 a.m. game will be between the fourth grade and fifth grade classrooms who collected the most cans for the food drive. The second game, at 11 a.m., will be between the winner of the first game and the teachers.

  • RED CEDAR ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

  • The school Science Fair Night will be from 6 to 7 p.m. on Nov. 21. Families are invited to come view all upper grade science fair projects.

  • SEA PINES MONTESSORI ACADEMY

  • The Usborne Book Fair starts Nov. 19 and will run through Nov. 26. The public is welcome to shop the books in the school lobby.

  • There will be a school community Thanksgiving Feast and Silent Auction from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 22. Details: 843-785-2534
