One person was injured in a three-car collision Wednesday afternoon on U.S. 17 near the Georgia-South Carolina state line.

The accident took place in the southbound lane of the Back River Bridge about 2:40 p.m., according to Levy Volunteer Fire Department Chief Doug Graham.

One person was transported by ambulance to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, he said.

Traffic has cleared on the bridge. Attempts Wednesday to reach the S.C. Highway Patrol, which will handle the investigation, were unsuccessful.
