Leaders failing to take responsibility

info@islandpacket.comNovember 13, 2013

Recently the principal of a local school, Phillip Shaw, was fired. Beaufort County School District Superintendent Jeffrey Moss justified the termination by saying, "either Mr. Shaw knew about what was going on and did nothing, or Mr. Shaw didn't know. And both of those are serious concerns." Some time ago, President Nixon was characterized in the press, following his denial of any knowledge of the Watergate scandal, as being either responsible or irresponsible. President Truman had a sign on his desk in the Oval Office which said, "The buck stops here."

Now we have a president and several members of his Cabinet who keep saying in response to the numerous fiascos reported in the press, "I didn't know." And nothing happens.

What is wrong with this picture?
