Myers, defense lead Ridgeland-Hardeeville past Lake City, 14-12

D.J. Myers scored two touchdowns on short runs, including the game-winning 2-yarder with just under four minutes remaining in the game, to lead Ridgeland-Hardeeville to a 14-12 win over visiting Lake City in the first round of the Class 2-A Division I playoffs.

The Jaguars (7-4) advance to play third-seeded Loris, which had a bye this week, on the road next Friday.

According to Ridgeland-Hardeeville coach Blake Raley, the Jaguars defense played well and controlled the game, but ineffective blocking on the line kept the offense in check.

The Jaguars surrendered a blocked punt that was recovered for a Lake City (2-9) touchdown.

'You survive and move on," Raley said.
