Beaufort's Eric Blakely, Hilton Head Prep's Teron Daley players of the week

Beaufort High School running back Eric Blakely and Hilton Head Prep running back Teron Daley are the Island Packet and Beaufort Gazette Players of the Week for Week 10.

Blakely carried 21 times for 171 yards and a 15-yard touchdown run in the Eagles' key 24-21 upset of Region 8-AAAA rival Fort Dorchester on Friday. The win pushed the Eagles (7-3, 2-2) into a four-way tie for second in the region. With a win Friday night, Beaufort could earn the second seed in the region.

Blakely also had a 53-yard run in the game that set up a first-and-goal from the 3. Its the second time he's won the award this year. For the season, Blakely has 1,013 yards and 13 touchdowns on 138 carries (7.3 avg.).

Daley rushed 22 times for 203 yards and two touchdowns (30, 5) and added a 77-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in the Dolphins' loss at rival Hilton Head Christian Academy on Thursday night.

For the season, Daley has 1,804 yards and 26 touchdowns on 180 carries (12.0 avg.). He's won the award twice, as well.
