A Beaufort man was charged Wednesday in connection with the October armed robbery of a pizza-delivery driver.

Aki Daron Franklin, 18, is accused of robbing a Papa John's driver at gunpoint at 9:30 p.m. Oct. 16 on Needles Road, according to Sgt. Robin McIntosh of the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office. He awaits a bond hearing at the Beaufort County Detention Center.

The 25-year-old victim told deputies he had been walking down the driveway of a home on Needles Road when four black males in dark clothing approached. One pointed a shotgun at his back and another pointed a handgun at his face, according to a news release.

After the suspects demanded "everything he had," the victim handed over the food he was delivering, his wallet and his cellphone, the release said.

McIntosh declined to say whether other arrests have been made in the incident or whether the Sheriff's Office is searching for more suspects.
