Despite an 0-4 start to the season, Whale Branch Early College High School traveled to Allandale-Fairfax with a chance to win a share of the Region 5-A championship on Friday.

It wasn't to be, though, as the Warriors fell 38-14 to the Tigers (7-2, 5-0).

Allendale-Fairfax exploded for 24 second-quarter points to break open an 8-6 game. The Warriors would not score again until there was just less than a minute remaining in the game.

The loss, however, does not affect Whale Branch's playoff standing. The Warriors (4-6, 3-2) are in, according to coach Jerry Hatcher.
