USC Beaufort men's golf team concludes fall season

Sand Sharks finish 6th in Southeastern Fire Invitational

LAKELAND, Fla. -- The University of South Carolina Beaufort men's golf team wrapped up its final event of the fall with a sixth-place showing at the Southeastern Fire Invitational on Tuesday at Eagle Brooke Golf Club.

The Sand Sharks posted a team score of 297 in windy conditions in the final round, finishing with a 54-hole total of 878 -- one shot out of fifth and four shots out of third. Host Southeastern (855) won the team title by nine shots over Webber International (864) with Thomas (874) in third, followed by Johnson & Wales (876) and Northwood (877).

Senior Brian Langley (71-67-75--213) led the Sand Sharks in a tie for sixth, followed by sophomore Jud Milam (68-75-74--217) in a tie for 13th. Freshman Alan Cooke (71-78-75--224) tied for 31st, followed by sophomore Brad Curren (77-77-73--227) in 36th and sophomore Cory Cottrell (80-75-75--230) in a tie for 40th.

The Sand Sharks will return to action Feb. 2-4 at the SCAD Spring Invitational at the Club at Savannah Harbor.
