Bluffton 3rd after first day of 4-A girls golf championship

Bluffton is third after the first day of the South Carolina Class 4-A Girls Golf Championships at Willow Creek in Greer.

The Bobcats shot a team score of 324, trailing only leader Lexington (298) and Spartanburg (314).

Bluffton's Brandi Hammonds is tied for fifth. She shot a first-round 73 and trails Lugoff-Elgin's Kelly Murphy (69) by four shots.

Tuesday's second round tees of at 8:30 a.m.
