Critics of new campus showing a lack of vision

info@islandpacket.comOctober 25, 2013

Hilton Head Island already has more than enough nature parks.

To those who emphatically disagree, to those who reject the most optimal, logically sound alternative available and to those who would squander the opportunity to increase the diversity of our local culture with the vibrant addition of a completely new and dynamically energized infusion of capital, young people with ambition and the faculty and staff who would all come as part of a university campus, just so we can have another park, I say they demonstrate a lack of vision and an overblown fear of increased traffic.

North Forest Beach is a dead end street with no through traffic and is almost entirely built out. South Forest Beach appears to be built out as well. Those that live in North Forest Beach and South Forest Beach have no trouble coming and going.

We need a strong local government with the vision to lead us into a future of vibrant progress rather than one of stifling stagnation.
