Battery Creek's Yuneek Crittendon

Battery Creek athlete Yuneek Crittendon is the Island Packet and Beaufort Gazette Player of the Week for Week 8.

Crittendon carried the ball 31 times for 287 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Dolphins (3-5, 2-3 Region 6-AA) to a key 57-51 region win over North Charleston. The senior had touchdown runs of 12, 16 and 42 yards, along with three two-point conversion runs.

But Crittendon's biggest contribution was a 32-yard completion to Raheem Cooper down to the North Charleston 2 on a fourth-and-10 play with 10 seconds remaining in the game. The play stopped the clock and set up Tyrone Dilbert's game-winning 2-yard touchdown run as time expired.

Crittendon has rushed 122 times for 985 yards, an 8.1-yard average, and 13 touchdowns for the season.
