sports@islandpacket.comOctober 25, 2013

Bluffton's girls tennis team (12-4, 9-1 Region 8-AAAA) wrapped up its regular season with a 4-3 win over Charleston Math and Science.

The Bobcats are Region 8-AAAA champions for the first time in school history for the girls. No Bluffton tennis team -- boys or girls -- has lost a region match at home in the past three seasons.

Bluffton will host West Ashley on Tuesday in the first round of the Class 4-A playoffs.

The Bobcats tied for the region title with Ashley Ridge but earned the No. 1 seed because of their head-to-head record.
