United Way nears halfway mark to goal

The United Way of the Lowcountry has reached more than $1,064,000 in funds, or 46.29 percent of its goal of $2.3 million for this year's annual fundraising campaign.

Through its 33 partner agencies, the United Way helped fund programs in 2013 that provided direct services to more than 31,000 people in the Lowcountry. In addition, the United Way of the Lowcountry website, uwlowcountry.org, features an online community directory of services from more than 40 local nonprofit agencies.
