High School Roundup, Oct. 21: Hilton Head Christian girls wrap up third-place finish at SCISAA golf finals

Hilton Head Christian: The Hlton Head Christian Academy girls golf team wrapped up its season Monday with a third-place finish at the SCISAA state finals at Pine Forest Country Club.

Hilton Head Christian finished with a 405 team total. Host Pinewood Prep won the state title with at 365, and Oakbrook Prep was second at 378.

Hilton Head Christian's Anna Lesmann Eddy earned a spot on the five-player all-state team with a 77. She placed third among individuals.

Also for the Eagles, Jamie Hubard shot a 91, Bethany Bunce had a 116, Molly Lucci posted a 121 and Daria Fulton had a 124.

Bluffton: Bluffton posted a team score of 306 at Monday's Lower State meet at Wescott Golf Club in Charleston.

Bluffton's Brandi Hammonds shot a 69, followed by Kasidy Beckel 73), Kylie Nizolek (76), Kathryn Thorne (88), and Rachel Wohn (90).

The Bobcats advanced to next week's state finals. The top eight teams moved on.


Whale Branch 3, Estill 0: The Warriors cruised to a 25-9, 25-13, 25-11 sweep.

Shaniqua Johnson had 13 kills, three aces, two blocks and two digs to spark WHale Branch. Jonae Riley contributed nine kills, five aces and one block.
