County official appointed to international council

Beaufort County's Hakim Bayyoud has been appointed to the International Accreditation Service's Technical Advisory Council -- Building Department Accreditation.

Bayyoud is the county Building Codes Department's flood plain manager and chief plans examiner. He has worked with the county for 10 years.

The Technical Advisory Council comprises members selected from senior management positions around the country and advises companies and organizations on the international service's accreditation protocols, according to a county news release.
