Ridgeland-Hardeeville doubled up by Woodland, 40-20

sports@islandpacket.comOctober 19, 2013

Despite holding an early fourth-quarter lead, Ridgeland-Hardeeville (5-3, 4-1) couldn't close the deal and fell 40-20 to fourth-ranked and unbeaten Woodland (8-0, 5-0) on the road in a battle for the lead in Region 6-AA.

After losing the lead with 6:30 left, the Jaguars couldn't recover.

D.J. Myers threw a pick-6, his second of the game, with two minutes remaining. The Wolverines added a final score after Ridgeland-Hardeeville turned the ball over on downs with less than a minute to play.

Bright spots for the Jaguars were Gavin Bush, who hauled in two scoring passes from Myers, and defensive back Derrice Miller, who had two interceptions, including one he returned 85 yards for a score.
