Students at Riverview Charter School have teamed with Stop Hunger Now as part of their Empty Bowls Service-Learning Project to help fight hunger.

The students have pledged to buy and package 35,000 meals for an orphanage in Haiti at a cost of $9,500. They have organized two events to help raise the money.

On Tuesday , a Portfolio Night will start at 6 p.m. Attendees can buy T-shirts, bid during a silent auction and volunteer to help package meals.

On Wednesday from 8:45 a.m. to 2 p.m., students will work in assembly lines to package the meals. Parents and community members can work with the students.
