A Papa John's pizza delivery driver was robbed at gunpoint Wednesday night while attempting a delivery on Needles Road in Beaufort.

The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office is investigating the robbery, which took place just after 9:30 p.m., according to a Thursday morning press release.

The 25-year-old victim told deputies that he was walking down the driveway of 2 Needles Rd. when four men approached him, one pointing a shotgun at his back and another pointing a handgun in his face. Described as black males wearing dark clothing, the suspects demanded the victim hand over "everything he had," the release states.

In addition to the food he was delivering, the victim gave the suspects his wallet and cell phone.

The suspects fled toward Cherokee Farms Road, leaving the victim unharmed.

Sheriff's office officials were unable to locate the suspects, and the residents of 2 Needles Road said they did not placed the order.

Those with information are asked to contact Investigator J. Malphrus at 843-255-3426 or Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
