TCL Foundation thanks golf tournament sponsors, participants

One of the great joys of living in the Lowcountry is experiencing the generosity of its people. We at the Technical College of the Lowcountry observed some of these generous people giving while having fun during the second TCL Foundation Golf Tournament held at Hampton Hall in Bluffton.

I would like to particularly thank CareCore National, the tournament sponsor, which made the event possible. Executive vice president for strategic account development Steve Duvall was especially helpful in spearheading the sponsorship and the great support the TCL Foundation enjoys from CareCore National.

We also thank the following sponsors: Palmetto Electric Cooperative, 94.5 The Coast, Creative Structures, Edward Jones, Marriott Vacations Worldwide, WJCL abc/WTGS FOX, WDM, Bonitz Flooring, Atlantic Asphalt, Russell Patterson, Nix Construction, William Himmelsbach, The Golf Club at Indigo Run, Spinnaker Resorts, The SERG Group, and Publix.

For the second year in a row, the WJCL abc/WTGS FOX team of Make Garza, David Dean, Robert Benjerman and Jonathan Meyer won first place.

The second place team included Billy O'Neal, Hank Amundsen, Bill Smyth and Linda Smyth.

Third place went to Larry Beckler, Steve Henry, David DeLarosa and Terry McOwen. Thanks to all players.

The Hampton Hall staff provided a delightful experience. Thanks to Brent Carlson, Skip Pratt, Brian McGuire, Ashleigh Whitmore, and all of the golf course staff.

TCL owes many thanks to alumnus and TCL Foundation board member, Derek Coaxum, who led the golf tournament efforts and gave so much of himself to assisting TCL students.
