On behalf of the League of the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra, I wish to express our gratitude for the support that made our first "Kitchen Tour of Note," held Sept. 29, such a resounding success. A dedicated committee led by Barbara Wolf worked long and hard to anticipate every detail. More than 60 volunteers from the League membership and Long Cove residents kept everything safe and pleasant. The ladies of the Low Key Piano Group performed in four of the homes to rave reviews.
There were six beautiful kitchens on the tour in Wexford Plantation and Long Cove Club. We are especially grateful for our hosts: the Calhoon, Cherichella, Mason, Navis, Noonan and Smythe families. We were thrilled to have Alexander's, EAT!, Long Cove Club, Old Fort Pub, The Sage Room and Wise Guys restaurants whose talented chefs provided gourmet delights in each kitchen. We could never have accomplished the event so successfully without our sponsors: Land Rover Hilton Head, John Kilmer Fine Interiors, Advanced Kitchen Design, Billy Wood Appliance, Le Cookery, Resurrection Church, Worth New York, Traditions of Hilton Head and The French Guy Photography.
We are especially grateful for the 400 men and women who attended the tour. This community support for the event and ultimately the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra and its Youth Programs is an inspiration. Look for us next year on Sunday, September 28, 2014.
