Plot summary in 50 words or less: "Inside the George" is a collection of humorous stories about Gus, a small town proprietor, as well as the colorful and eccentric customers that are a part of his everyday life. Whether he's eradicating varmints or just listening to his customers' personal melodramas, you will be drawn into the lives of these small town characters.

First sentence: "I am so depressed."

Previous writing experience: Tyner has written occasionally as a hobby, but this is her first experience publishing her work.

Earliest writing memory: When she was in fifth grade, a group wrote a play to act out in class.

The story behind the novel: Tyner wanted her grandchildren to have a glimpse of how their parents' lives were influenced by their family business and its wonderful customers who became extended family.

Favorite Books: "Ballad of the Sad Cafe" by Carson McCullers; the Spenser series by Robert B. Parker

What's next: She's thinking about a sequel to her second novel, "The Sleuth Sisters."
