BABSON PARK, Fla. -- The University of South Carolina Beaufort women's soccer team began a key trip to Florida with a 3-0 loss at Webber International in Sun Conference action Friday afternoon.

The Sand Sharks (4-8-1, 1-4 Sun Conference) were unable to convert any of their nine shots on goal as Warriors goalkeeper Makenzie Vance notched the shutout.

The teams were scoreless at halftime, but Webber International (2-5-2, 1-2-1) got off to a quick start after the break, scoring twice in the first eight minutes. Aubrie Strohmenger opened the scoring in the 49th minute, and Philippa Wilson followed with a goal less than five minutes later. Ciera Abundez assisted on Wilson's goal and added one of her own in the 77th minute, using her head to put away an assist from Strohmenger.

Chelsie Mummert made seven saves for USCB.

The Sand Sharks face another key conference match at Warner at 2 p.m. Sunday.
