A 51-year-old Bluffton man was assaulted Oct. 2 after asking two men to leave his Sandy Pointe apartment.

About 12:30 p.m., the victim and his roommate tried to clear out several overnight guests, including a 26-year-old Bluffton man, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office.

The suspect became angry and pointed his black Cricket cellphone at the resident as if it were a handgun, before using it to strike him on the head, according to an incident report.

Another guest punched the victim on the head several times, the report said. Deputies are searching for the second suspect and charged the 26-year-old with second-degree assault and battery and fleeing to evade law enforcement.
