School textbooks open for public view

info@islandpacket.comOctober 7, 2013

The public can review textbooks and instructional materials that have been proposed for use in South Carolina public schools until Nov. 15.

The materials will be on display at the University of South Carolina Beaufort library at 8 E. Campus Drive in greater Bluffton, according to the Beaufort County School District.

The materials will be recommended to the state Board of Education for adoption Dec. 11 after receiving public comments.

The Island Packet is pleased to provide this opportunity to share information, experiences and observations about what's in the news. Some of the comments may be reprinted elsewhere in the site or in the newspaper. We encourage lively, open debate on the issues of the day, and ask that you refrain from profanity, hate speech, personal comments and remarks that are off point. Thank you for taking the time to offer your thoughts.
