Vines need to go to protect, save trees

info@islandpacket.comOctober 7, 2013

Having a nice (beautiful) entry to Hilton Head Island is great.

But one problem has been ignored, and that is the spread of Asian vines all over trees on Hilton Head.

Driving onto the island, the spread of these vines is overwhelmingly obvious. It may take a while, but those vines will eventually kill the trees. These vines are evident all over the island, but removing them has been essentially ignored. Nowhere has this problem been addressed.

We can't continue to ignore them. Yes, it will probably be a tough fix, but we better start now.
