Breast cancer awareness benefit planned for Oct. 20

The merchants at the Village Exchange Shopping Center on Hilton Head Island will present "Paint the Village Pink!," a breast cancer awareness benefit from noon to 4 p.m. Oct. 20.

All proceeds will go to Carolina Cups, a local nonprofit that promotes breast cancer education, screening, treatment and clinical research.

All About Me Salon & Spa will have haircut specials and pink hair extensions. Participating businesses include Louette Boutique, The Silver Garden, High Tide Beads and Daina Wasserstrom and Associates yoga studio. There will be silent auctions and drawings.

A Lowcountry Backyard Restaurant, Cool Cats Lounge & Delisheee Yo Frozen Yogurt and Snack Shop will have food for sale and live local music will be by Groove Town Assault and Jordan Ross.
