Beaufort mayor elected to The Humanities Council SC

Beaufort Mayor Billy Keyserling has been elected to a three-year term on The Humanities Council SC board of directors. His term begins Nov. 1.

The council is in its 40th year as the state-based program of the National Endowment for the Humanities. Led by a 22-member board of public and academic representatives, it awards about $200,000 in grants annually and sponsors the S.C. Humanities Festival and the S.C. Book Festival.
