Hilton Head Island High School lost three girls to NCAA Division I schools off its 2012 swim team that won the school's third straight Class 3-A state championship.

Maybe the only one who expected the Seahawks to make it four straight on Saturday was Hilton Head Island coach Mike Lane. But even he didn't expect the dominance the Seahawks displayed on their way to the championship at the USC Natatorium in Columbia.

"They pulled it off," Lane said. "It was probably the most incredible day of my coaching career. We ended up winning by almost 70 points. I couldn't believe it."

Hilton Head Island tallied 433 points, leaving second-place Academic Magnet far behind with 371. And the Raptors had twice as many girls qualify for the championships.

Every Seahawk girl who competed scored points in the meet, and every girl had their best time of the season. Hilton Head Island broke two school records.

Madison Field won the individual championship in the 200 individual medley, breaking the school record with a time of 2:09.32. And in the 500 freestyle, Lilla Felix and Sarah Reamy finished 1-2 with times of 5:04.28 and 5:10.88, respectively.

The Seahawks' team of Felix, Field, Amelia Rzeczycki and Rachel Mangin failed to defend their title in the 200 medley relay, but broke the school record with a time of 1:51.70.

But the 400 freestyle relay team of Felix, Victoria Gill, Rzeczycki and Field won with a time of 3:38.46.

Lilla Felix also finished second in the 100 backstroke with a time of 58.98, while Gill was third in the 200 freestyle with a 1:55.68.

"This is unbelievable," Lane said. "... I don't even have the words."

The Hilton Head Island boys finished 10th, breaking two school records.

The Bluffton boys finished 12th at the Class 4-A meet, while the girls finished 16th.
