Alexandra Mueller had a busy day Saturday at the Van Der Meer Shipyard Women's $10,000 tournament on Hilton Head Island.
The fourth-seeded Mueller eliminated top-seeded Ulrikke Eikeri of Norway 6-2, 4-6, 6-2 in the semifinals to advance to Sunday's 10 a.m. singles championship.
Then, an hour and a half later, Mueller returned to the court with her partner Jillian O'Neill to knock off the second-seeded duo of Kristi Boxx and Abigail Guthrie, 6-4, 6-1, in the doubles championship.
"It's hard. I wish finals day was just it's own thing," Mueller said. "I'm lucky to be in the finals, so I just look at it that way."
The two-time U.S. Open participant has now won four doubles titles this year and is looking for her second singles title.
In the other singles semifinal, 16-year-old wild card Ellie Halbauer downed fellow wild card Raveena Kingsley, 6-3, 7-5.
The Boca Raton, Fla., resident said she didn't envision making the finals, but she has faced Mueller before, falling 6-3, 6-3 last week at Ameila Island, Fla.
"Her serve is really good," Halbauer said.
"I hoped to play her again so I can take her down," she added, laughing.
