I was surprised by Thursday's Gazette. Below the fold on the front page was a graphic outlining the potential loss in Gross Domestic Product for a week of shutdown of the federal government.
It said: "Assuming an average annual per (federal) worker wage of $110,000, loss of GDP would be $1.6 billion per week of a shutdown."
That's $110,000? Average? No wonder we're broke.
