Terrell Blake

A brief high speed police chase led to a crashed vehicle and the arrest of two Beaufort residents early Friday morning.

Terrell Blake is accused evading law enforcement after a Beaufort Police Department officer attempted to stop his vehicle for suspicion of driving under the influence.

After being apprehended, Blake was treated for injuries from a resulting crash at Beaufort Memorial Hospital, and following treatment was booked by police.

According to a press release issued by the department, Terrell Blake attempted to elude arrest by turning his vehicle at a high rate of speed.

The failed maneuver caused Blake to crash his vehicle into a ditch in the area of Ajuga Drive, where he abandoned the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot.

Terrell Blake is charged with driving under suspension, failure to stop for blue lights, fleeing to evade and simple possession of marijuana.

Terrell Blake was joined in the vehicle by Elaine Blake.

Elaine Blake is charged with simple possession of marijuana.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol was notified of the incident and responded to investigate the accident, a routine measure according to a Beaufort Police Department press release.

Further charges are pending the outcome of the investigation.
