Richard Blankenship

A missing Lady's Island man may be in need of medical attention, the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office reported Tuesday.

Richard Warren Blankenship, 56, was reported missing Monday morning after family members visited his home and found the power off and his pickup truck gone, according to a news release. Family last had contact with him Sunday afternoon, but told the Sheriff's Office he was acting strangely, possibly as a result of his medication.

Blankenship may be driving a maroon 2003 Chevrolet S10 pickup truck with S.C. license plate CPG 532. He was described in the news release as a white male, about 5-foot-10, 225 pounds with gray, shoulder-length hair, and brown eyes.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Blankenship is asked to contact either Investigator Cpl. J. Malphrus at 843-255-3426 or Crimestoppers, 1-888-CRIME-SC (274-6372).
