Man attacked by 4 men in Seabrook

The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office is investigating an attempted armed robbery and assault that occurred Friday night at Seabrook Mobile Home Park.

At 9:15 p.m., deputies responded to Martin Lane, where a 57-year-old man said he'd been assaulted by a four men, according to a news release.

The man said he was walking home when the men, one of whom was armed with a handgun, demanded money. When the victim told them he did not have any, they punched him in the face, knocking him to the ground. They continued to punch and kick him several times before running toward Detour Road, the release said.

The victim went to a neighbor's home to seek help and contact law enforcement. He refused medical attention, the release said.

His attackers were described only as black men, 16 to 20 years old.
