    The 75th anniversary tribute to Benny Goodman and the 1938 Carnegie Hall Jazz Concert, presented by the Capitol Center Jazz Orchestra will be at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 27 at University of South Carolina Beaufort Center for the Arts, 801 Carteret St., Beaufort. Hailed by The New York Times as "Goodman straight-up with a twist of lightning," New York City jazz clarinetist and Benny Goodman alumnus Ken Peplowski will perform at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 27 at the University of South Carolina Beaufort Center for the Arts, 801 Carteret St., Beaufort, along with the Capitol Center Jazz Orchestra to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Benny Goodman's historical 1938 Jazz concert at New York City's famed Carnegie Hall.

The evening will feature numerous classics from the performance, including "Don't Be That Way," "Memories of You" and "Sing, Sing, Sing."

Music director Clayton Poole said, "We will collectively breathe new life into those classic '30s and '40s era hits and expose a whole new audience to this wonderful music and the spontaneity of big band swing."
