A 48-year-old Beaufort man was charged with felony criminal sexual conduct Friday after he allegedly raped a 14-year-old girl, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office.

Lewis Anthony Chisolm, who is being held for prosecution in the Beaufort County Detention Center, pulled his car up beside the girl, who is the daughter of his friend, while she was waiting for her school bus Tuesday, a Sheriff's Office news release said.

Instead of taking her to school, Chisolm drove the victim to his home and sexually assaulted her, the release said.

He then dropped her off at her school, where she confided in a friend who immediately notified staff, according to officers.
