Automotive industry could halt the texting

info@islandpacket.comSeptember 20, 2013

A ban on texting while driving is a step in the right direction to reduce accidents, but it does not go far enough.

The automobile industry can easily develop the technology that would prohibit any cellphone use in a car unless the car's transmission was in "park."

If we are serious about cellphone use in moving vehicles, this would eliminate the problem.
