Americans won't fall for more bad promises

I get the feeling that this is just the beginning of woes for President Barack Obama.

Russia's Vladimir Putin is going to dangle him on a chain mercilessly, never giving him enough to justify an attack and never coming through with real change.

Meanwhile, Obama still doesn't have proof that Bashar al-Assad was behind the chemical attack. Assad was already beginning to mop up the civil disturbance. He's neither stupid nor suicidal. I doubt his underlings are either; they wouldn't do this without his authorization. It is far more believable that the jihadists piggybacked a chemical mortar attack onto one of Assad's air raids.

Obama is not going to be able to rally the American people to this cause. That is going to be increasingly, painfully obvious. He has broken every promise he ran on in 2008 -- transparency, international law, racial harmony, "if you like your plan, you can keep your plan," etc.

If he goes into Syria, it will be the Obamacare of foreign relations being shoved down our throats. ("Just pass it; we will find out what's in it after the vote.") Just do it. We will figure out our next move after the attack.

And you re-elected this man, America. What the devil is wrong with you?
