Needless criticism dogs Obama in White House

info@islandpacket.comSeptember 16, 2013

There seems to be no limit to the things some people will find to demean this president.

I just read a letter to the editor criticizing President Barack Obama, who was photographed with one foot on the Oval Office desk. The writer speculated that he was either "ignorant or arrogant."

It took me literally seconds to find pictures on the Internet of Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford and George W. Bush with their feet on the desk, as well as a picture of President Ronald Reagan sitting on a corner of the desk.

A majority in this country twice elected Obama, but a minority has sought to discredit him from the beginning, often with preposterous untruths. This has nothing to do with disagreement on policy. They just do not accept this man as their president, and I think we know why.
