Obama not first to put feet on Oval Office desk

info@islandpacket.comSeptember 13, 2013

Does a recent letter writer suffer from memory loss or was his head buried in the sand when photographs of past presidents were published with their feet on the desk in the Oval Office?

Where was the outrage when George W. Bush did this? How embarrassing was it for the writer when Gerald Ford put his feet on "borrowed furniture"? How "ignorant" or "arrogant" were those presidents?

Is this the worst thing the writer can think of in these times? One out of every five children in our country goes to bed hungry every night. Where is the anger? A piece of furniture deserves more respect than a human life?

I hope he has time to rethink his values and set a better example for everyone else's.
