All four judges on "America's Got Talent" had positive things to say about Catapult Entertainment after the troupe's first performance on the NBC reality show.

"Everything that we're looking for on this show just walked onto that stage," judge Howard Stern said.

Hilton Head Island-born Alex Betka is among the group of 10 "shadow dancers" in Catapult Entertainment, which performs behind a backlit screen and use their silhouettes to tell stories.

The troupe is among the final 12 acts competing for a $1 million prize. Week one of the finals begins Tuesday , and Betka's family hopes America will show its support by voting for Catapult.

Betka lived on Hilton Head until he was a year old, but his family has been in the area since the 1970s. His mother, Mary Frances Betka, lives in Bluffton, as do his grandparents Jim and Ellie Creegan. Alex grew up in California and Colorado. He now lives in New York City.

"I can't even explain as a mother how proud I am," Mary Frances said. "He started dancing in the second grade. ... I've been driving him to dance lessons and dance schools and auditions and all kind of things forever. And it's nice to see that it's paying off."

AMERICA'S GOT TALENT Hilton Head Island-born Alex Betka's group, Catapult Entertainment, will appear at 9 p.m. Tuesday on NBC's "America's Got Talent." Viewers can vote for their favorite contestants on social media or on the show's website. Details: Go to nbc.com/americas-got-talent/vote.
