Beaufort police are warning residents to lock their cars and keep valuables out of sight, after a string of car break-ins and thefts over the past two days.

Police reported six break-ins Wednesday in the Spanish Point neighborhood and four Tuesday at Bay South apartments. Both complexes are on Ribaut Road. Some of the vehicles were unlocked, and items were visible inside the cars, according to police.
