It's wrong to continue to fight health care law

info@islandpacket.comSeptember 5, 2013

In all of the discussion about the Affordable Care Act (or as it has been demonized -- Obamacare), the estimated 60 million uninsured people are hardly ever mentioned.

President Barack Obama was re-elected president by a majority of the voters; get over it. The lies and half lies one hears in some of the media and in ads from individuals with a political agenda are calculated to frighten people. The Affordable Care Act is the law of the land, sanctioned by the Supreme Court; get over it.

These elected officials need to get back to the business of running our country, not dividing it. The endless votes to repeal Obamacare are not only immoral, but also unchristian. Access to health care is a basic human right. Millions have already registered for health insurance because they cannot afford the premiums presently offered by the health insurance industry. To ignore the needs of the 99 percent is unconscionable. Christians and other God-loving people take care of the less fortunate, cheerfully.
