Classroom grants are available for teachers in northern Beaufort County public and charter schools to help fund "imaginative, innovative projects" that otherwise could not be funded.

The Northern Beaufort County Public Education Foundation is offering $5,000 in mini-grants this fall, each capped at $500. The grants may be used in all subject areas in elementary, middle and high schools.

The deadline for application is 5 p.m. Sept. 25, and winners will be announced in October, according to a release from the foundation. The funds will be released directly to the teacher and must be spent before May 20.
