Deep Well Project thanks St. Francis Thrift Shop

letters@islandpacket.comSeptember 2, 2013

There can never be too many letters published with thanks for St. Francis Thrift Shop's generosity to our community.

The Deep Well Project is one of the fortunate beneficiaries of its continued giving. After only a little warning, our 16-year-old truck stopped working a few months ago. It was no longer economically feasible to repair this vehicle, yet Deep Well could not do without this truck. Our Livable Housing volunteers used it to perform repairs and renovations on 100 island homes last year. Deep Well applied for a grant from the St. Francis Thrift Shop to go toward the purchase of a used truck, and we were thankful and relieved to have been approved.

Deep Well is honored to be in partnership with the St. Francis Thrift Shop, which makes a significant difference in our community through the charities it serves.

Our great thanks and appreciation go out to the volunteers and staff of St. Francis Thrift Shop for their hard work and dedication that helped us to purchase a working truck and enabled us to continue helping islanders in need.
