Prep roundup, Aug. 29: Hilton Head Prep gets wins in volleyball, girls tennis

A roundup of Thurday night's area high school sports action:

VOLLEYBALL

Hilton Head Prep 3, Beaufort Academy 1: The Dolphins dropped the first set 15-25, only to bounce back and win three straight -- 25-10, 25-23, 25-18 -- at Beaufort Academy for the win.

Rowan Baltzley (one kill, two aces and 20 assists) and Taylor Kent (15 kills, an ace and two blocks) were the Dolphins' leaders.

Other Hilton Head Prep contributors include Megan Kelly (five kills, two aces), Riley Brown (two kills and an ace), Carlie Van (four aces and 12 assists) and in her first varsity match, Kara Whiting (two kills in first varsity match).

The Dodgers (1-2) play at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Pinewood Prep.

GIRLS TENNIS

Hilton Head Prep 8, Beaufort Academy 0: Hilton Head Prep made quick work of Beaufort Academy. They play again this weekend.

GIRLS GOLF

Bluffton 155, Hilton Head Island 198: Bluffton opened with a win at its home course, Island West. The medalist was Bluffton's Brandi Hammonds with a 36.
