Ridgeland-Hardeeville's Craven Howard IPBG Player of the Week

Ridgeland-Hardeeville linebacker Craven Howard is the Island Packet and Beaufort Gazette High School Football Player of the Week for his performance in the Jaguars' 20-14 come-from-behind win over Savannah Country Day last Friday.

Jaguars coach Blake Raley called the honor "well deserved."

The senior made 15 tackles, including two for loss in the win. But it was his 73-yard interception return for a touchdown at the end of the third quarter that cut the Hornets' lead to 14-12.

"His play sparked our comeback for sure," Raley said.

Beaufort Academy senior running back Reyn Robinson, who put up some ridiculous numbers in just two quarters of football, won the readers' poll with 54 percent of the vote.

Robinson gained 195 yards on only six carries, scoring three touchdowns, including one on the first play of the game, in an 18-0 win over Twiggs Academy (Ga.) that was cut short by lightning.
