Work will begin next week on repaving Interstate 95 on the South Carolina side of the Georgia border.

Milling, paving and shoulder reconstruction will start Tuesday between the state line and mile marker 4 on north and south lanes in Jasper County, according to a news release from the project's contractor, R.B. Baker Construction.

The work was commissioned by the S.C. Department of Transportation. It is scheduled to end Sept. 20 and will be performed Sunday through Friday nights to minimize traffic disruptions, the release said.
